Lately while listening to songs I've heard hundreds of times, I've realised that I haven't actually listened to them properly. A few days ago it was Warning Sign by Coldplay. Today it was Betty by Brooke Fraser (and quit your laughing...FYI: The Breeze is not the only radio station I listen to).
The first verse and chorus:
You got a quick snap-lock on your cold, cold heart
You got your Y.S.L. kicks and a red birthmark
In the shape of Canada
That you try to keep a secret
You've got your scars and you've got your birthmarks
You've got Toronto hiding on your hip, honey
You've got your secrets
You've got your regrets
Darling, we all do
I am one to dwell on past mistakes and regrets. Too busy trying to justify and redeem, instead of learning and moving on. Somewhere inside is the me who is "hidden by my expectations".
It's a big, scary world out there. Stepping out of the skin that we wear for the world, and displaying what really lies inside, warts and all, is risky. I hope for the courage to do that. And the grace to allow others to do the same.

I always enjoy reading your blog. I have found it hard to think of things to blog about so have decided to try a plan that someone else has thought up for me. Have a great weekend!
Bina. This blog could've been my own. Though probably... definitely... not as well written. Brooke, yous a wise chick.
Brooke is wise and hot, with a killer set of pipes. Do you think she has inside warts? Probs not.
I totally get where you are coming from with this post. I used to dwell on past hurts/regrets (and probably still do to some extent) but i decided that this year i would make a change in myself and move on from those memories and start making/creating new ones. hope that you find the courage (or as i put it 'fearless-ness' from within) to risk it all and display what really lies inside.
:) happy blogging!
Hey, I used to be just like that..dwell on the past, then I decided to slap myself across the face and actually worked up the courage to just let it go and move on..probably don't work in all situations but eh, wth right? there's nothing we can do to the past but learn from it..or so someone said..hehe..and i realized I'm totally not helping or making any sense at all. K, I'll bugger off now..hehe
